Apprenticeships

Does any one have experience of these? Either done one, or an employer that does them. What I’m thinking is doing an apprenticeship in Engineering. I was planning to go to uni, and probably will, but just considering this option. Sounds like a good idea seen as you get paid and a qualification, + often a job at the end.
Reason this is in the business to business is because: If anyone is looking for someone to work for them as an apprentice, please let me know. I’m really interested in Engineering, + It doesn’t not matter where it is, I might as well at least think about it.
