CIS Freelance Site Engineer mileage expenses claimable?
Discussion
Hi,
I didn't claim travel/mileage expense last year as i considered that at any 1 time i was travelling to the same site (ie equivalent to ordinary commuting), even if the duration of work for the various sites was usually no more than a few months and HMRC were tightening up the claim rules. But I'm not so sure after looking deeper into this lately.... can any one advise please?:
I commute to single project construction site contracts at a time with each contract of work lasting continuously from 1 week to 6 months, then i move onto the next contract.
No contract periods overlapped.
These contracts are the same work location every day.
None last longer or are expected to last longer (at the start) than the 40% of the 24month limit duration.
Are these commutes claimable please?
If so, can these be back claimed (via 24-25 Self Assessment)?
