I have a need for some offline accounting software for a small business. I know Xero and Sage very well, but I don't want cloud-based, or SAAS.

It's for a small enterprise, so low cost (free smile ) is good.

I found Manager.io, but does anyone alse have any recommendations?

I could build what I need in Excel, as I'm expert at that, but if someone else has done the hard work, then so much the better.

Don't need payroll.

Strictly speaking, I should have said "bookkeeping" rather than "accounting". I don't need MTD, or VAT integrations. Bank recs would be good.

I stuggled to find a replacement for Quicken/Money but have a look at Banktree which is standalone:

Interesting, thanks. That's personal rather than business, but it might actually be suitable...

It does mention end of year reconciliation so it might be businessy enough. In the end I managed to get Quicken 2004 running on Windows 11 so that was adequate for me.

I have, yes. I need to remind myself why it's not on the shortlist....

ETA: it turns out that it is on the shortlist, but I can't read my own handwriting.

I'm in the same situation, so I'm interested in the replies & suggestions.

I'm currently still running quickbooks 2014 on a Win 7 computer, as I want to keep my accounts data offline.
