KrakenFlex and Industrial Batteries
Discussion
Bit of a random one. Not sure it's business related but will start here.
Does anyone on here work with or use KrakenFlex. If so how does a krakenflex box monitoring grid frequency 20 times a second? Is it some sort of CT Clamp or other piece of hardware? (Not to be confused with Kraken platform)
I've been told they monitor the Grid 20 times per second and discharge / charge accordingly to keep the grid near to 50hz. Apparently it's quite profitable (although the rates have crashed in the last two years). We've been offered industrial batteries FoC because they're going to make the owner cash from these markets and im trying to investigate how this is actually done.
Thanks

They usually link to what's known as an ffm (Fast frequency meter).
So there will need to be a ct of the correct rating on the feeder that the ffm connects to and feeds the signal to the krakenflex box.
The box then runs the different d* curves as required.
It's actually quite simple.
