As a company we probably hire cars abroad maybe 15 times a year, average 2 day trips. Our existing fleet policy that covers five vans doesn't extend to foreign car hire, and our insurer NFU doesn't sound very interested in offering this cover to us.

What's the best insurance option, can't be sensible paying Hertz etc. specific trip insurance each time?

Cheers

It’s not a product that’s available.

No commercial vehicle covers sdh vehicles hired abroad. It’s rare you can add uk ones (contract hire is different)

You can get coliision damage waiver/excess insurance for hire cars. But it’s generally bundled with Amex cards

My previous employer had a policy for UK hires that up to a certain number of days you should take whatever the hire company offered to eliminate excess. Beyond that, they’d get their fleet insurer to issue a cover note. For 2 day hires, especially abroad, it may be the case that being rinsed by the hire firms is actually the most cost effective option.
