I've started conducting some research on buying particular items well used in my industry with the intent of potentially setting up my own online wholesaler, i already have a couple local businesses that i could potentially approach and get them on side with using some of the products i'd be importing and repackaging under a brand name.

Does anyone here have any experience or life lessons with the entire process of purchasing products manufactured in china, having it shipped and taking it to market over here?

I'm currently creating a spreadsheet with every product that is quite well used and also some of the more inconspicuous products that i thought 'christ that seems expensive" and after doing some of my own research and long behold, they were cheap to buy but being sold at a premium.

I've nothing to add but very interested in the responses. Would this not really be like white/private labelling?

OP is looking to wholesale his own brand. No marketing or brand building is mentioned in his post just how do you spend money buying stuff. You work the other way, where is the demand, what can you offer and why should anyone buy from you before you spend money.
