I want to set up a garage in Reading, UK. Please help me, as I’m looking to buy new workshop equipment at an affordable price.
I’ve visited several websites like Machine Mart - https://www.machinemart.co.uk/
GES Ltd - https://www.ges-uk.co.uk/
Halfords - https://www.halfords.com/tools/
SGS - https://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-equipment
and others.

Speak to your local eurocarparts branch, they have regional equipment managers who can walk you through what you need and possibly even finance it for you.

I work in the trade and having looked at GES they are selling very basic equipment for pretty high prices. I could sell you better spec aircon machines at much lower prices than they are offering and i'm sure we would undrcut othe other items too.

machine mart and halfords are for consumer products not professional use stuff.

There's a wonderful auction website that not many people are aware of. You simply type in what you want to buy, and a load of listings appear.
It's called eBay. Have a look and filter by "used".

I have fitted out a few garages and these guys have been amazing to deal with, very expensive stuff can be leased, pits etc can be financed and straight purchases are very very reasonably priced and of top quality. I have no links to them beyond being a very satisfied customer.

Dont buy anything you wont use constantly, pits, lift, compressor, headlight setter, welder etc are essential. Induction heaters, parts washers, tyre fitter/balancer, spray equipment etc I'd advise to only purchase when you are turning away work.
