New bed client, site, marketing, growth strategy.

Can I find a courier for mattresses- nope.

Not just bed but made to measure for camper vans and statics etc / could be lucrative if we could deliver.

Any suggestions please.

Or sell foam mattresses so they're just a vacuum-packed roll. Or buy a van?

Crikey - they said they’d looked everywhere. I’m guessing it’s uneconomic but I’ll certainly look - thank you

I'm sure the last mattress/divan set we bought was delivered via DX, was a few years ago though.

Is there enough margin in it to self deliver?

Using own vans is not an option. I’m determined to get this business nationwide so will look at DX.

Panther I know about.

Years ago plackets were an ugly freight courier of choice.

We’d probably do 50/100 a day if hope, isn’t Shipley for one off type things?

We used to get a lot of big stuff delivered to us with Tuffnels but they went bust recently, they have been bought but I dont know if they still do the bigger stuff.

A lot of the large stuff we've had delivered seems to come from SK Distribution.
They seem to offer a very good service.

Surely buy one from each of the competition, and see who delivers it!

50-100 per DAY?

Are we talking rolled and compressed?

Or is this a container load or more on 3-4 days?

What's the USP in a market so congested? Interested in how things like this can be boosted.

My king size Emma mattress in a box weighed 35 kg from memory and was delivered by a standard UPS van.

Client makes custom mattress in foam for boats, campers and caravans / truck beds etc etc.
I’m having a huge push next year to get everyone to upgrade and for a short period maybe 3/6 months I expect to be very very busy.
We’re just sussing out the logistics.
