eBAY new tax rules
Discussion
Received the email below from ebay, sold some old items I had, private account, im below £1000 for the month, and 32 items sold, anyone else had the same?
We’re getting in touch to let you know that you need to update your account information with your National Insurance number. New UK digital sales reporting legislation requires sellers with 30 or more sales, or who have sales exceeding £1740 in a calendar year, to register this information.
Please note that your tax obligations haven't changed. HMRC's guidance states that if you're just selling some unwanted personal items, like those found in a loft or garage, it's unlikely you'll have to pay tax.
