We are soon to be working with a new supplier in Holland and bringing in 2-3 pallets per month, they can ship these to the UK with one of their accounts (TNT or Dachser I think) which is fine, however at what point do we need to start working out the deferred VAT scheme info so we dont pay it on entry?

Do we need a customs agent to step in and help us out or if the pallets are sent with a large firm such as TNT so they take care of it?

Our second option was using a removal/haulage type company which is a bit safer and cheaper, but I then presume they wont have anything to do with the import paperwork and we would need an agent to prepare that?

Any tips appreciated..

I’ve used yes2ship to sort out the paperwork for small imports and they’ve been fine

We import from Germany from time to time and use IFL

https://internationalforwarding.co.uk/

They handle the importation and VAT paperwork for us and make it fairly easy.
