Do you know anything about French restaurant software?
Discussion
Due to a screw up by a polling company, they wanna pay me 300 euros for an hour of my time to give my insights on French restaurant software.
I do not know anything at all about French restaurant software (it's not completely insane why they've contacted me, but they've got the wrong end of the stick). But I like 300 euros. So if it comes to I will have a go at BSing it but just trying on a few channels to see if anyone does know about it and wanna split it 50/50?
(Or just got the gift of the gab tbh. Not as if I can tell any different anyway)

Is the software written in French? Or written in English but by French people? Or written specifically for French restaurants?
I happen to be an expert in all three areas so I'll DM you my bank details so you can send me the 150 euros before I respond with my advice.

Is the offer via LinkedIn?
I get contacted regularly, offering me a few hundred quid for an hour of my time, if they could speak to me about Finance IT systems.
I've always ignored them because my guess is that they're trying to set up a sales meeting (which I cba with) and, at the end of the interview , there will be something in the T&C's which means they cant pay me.....

Yes. It seems "legit" though, although obv also spammy given that it's ended up with me. I do every so often get similar *relevant* offers from more than one firm but don't take them for different reasons to you - I'm concerned they could be from competitors or worse, cyber threats of some kind. So I don't take them for that reason. Doesn't apply to french restaurant software though!I get contacted regularly, offering me a few hundred quid for an hour of my time, if they could speak to me about Finance IT systems.

I have also successfully done a couple of online surveys for silly money occasionally. £500 once from someone trying to (I assume) launch a centurion like product. I should not be in the target audience for that.

I’m an expert in my field (nothing to do with IT) and after being referred to one of these companies by a colleague I have done numerous consults with a variety of different companies. It’s normally a phone call or Teams meeting with a foreign investment firm for which I charge around £250 per hour and the cash is in my bank within 24hrs. There may well be scam ones out there but I’ve not dealt with one yet. However, be aware the request is just the start of the process, you would have to lie through your teeth to actually win a job if you weren’t an actual expert. If you respond they will ask a series of questions about your expertise on the subject matter. I probably receive 3 requests a week but am only an expert for 1 a month. It’s easy money, but only if you are an actual expert and can add value to the conversation.
