I have a small problem which I would be interested in other people's views.

For my UK based company, we regularly have to pay charges for software subscriptions etc in USD.

Previously I had an American Express corporate card which was denominated in USD. So I could just pay all the charges using this card directly in USD, and then pay the USD balance directly to Amex at the end of each month.

However, Amex have written to say they are withdrawing this product from the UK market. So I've left wondering what to do....

Ideally, I just want another business USD debit/credit/charge card where I can settle the balance every month in USD. But is that possible?

How do others pay their business USD costs? I could just pay any USD costs on our GBP card, but I'll end up losing a bit in exchange fees, which just seems unnecessarily costly. In terms of monthly USD spend on the card, it isn't massive, probably about $5k/month.

Is this the card you have / had? https://www.americanexpress.com/icc/cards/the-gree...

We currently use this for a LOT of USD spend so I hope they aren't withdrawing it!

If you don't care about the points, I would just use Revolut or similar to get a good rate.

If you do want the points, I'm not sure - we spent ages looking before we found that Amex!

I'm not sure if it is exactly that one, as we were using their USD "charge card" and (I think) the card you linked to is a credit card. However, it could be the same, as I note on that web-page "you can no longer apply for this card".

I've had a look at the options this afternoon, and I think I will need to open something like a Wise company account, as they seem to offer a USD debit card, which isn't quite as convenient, but should hopefully do the job.

We use Capital on Tap for our company credit cards, no FX charges and really happy with app and rewards etc. we too pay for company USD expenses monthly without an issue. Let me know if you’d like a referral code to get £75 on your balance.
