So have some exact pillowcases that Amazon have and are selling for £5 a pair-I can source them for £2 inc VAT landed in the UK, will I make a profit or will Amazon just not list properly or lower there price?

Postage, amazon fees will eat that up soon enough.

If you try and list them on Amazon to compete, assuming you list them at £4.99 to undercut, your Amazon fee will be around 60p, leaving you £2.40 to pack and ship the product, and make a profit.

Plus you’d have to well undercut Amazon to draw the buyers away from them. A penny won’t be enough.

They’d probably still give themselves the Buy Box anyway.

It’s incredibly hard to beat Amazon on a listing. They will quite happily sell at a loss for as long as it takes for you give up.

In 90% of cases we won’t list a product when Amazon is also on the listing. We also tend to stick to products over £50-100 as it’s also pretty hard to make any real money on a £5 item that needs posting.

Maybe try making some bundles of the product with other associated products, or a twin pack. Higher average order value and Amazon likely won’t list on the new listing.
