I am involved with a small charity, which occasionally is given white goods for members of the public who are in dire poverty, and often don't have a fridge and oven etc.

We are not in a position to test them fully, though will PAT test them - any knowledge on PH about the liability and to indemnify the charity against any issues, short of asking the recipient to sign their life away upon receipt?

Your insurance policy very likely excludes liability arising out of the item causing damage to person or property.

Options - sell with a waiver / buy a more expensive insurance policy / don't sell or gift them

I'd check with your broker and the insurance policy statement of fact, ctrl F and search the word electrical.
