I'm getting annoyed with Worldpay / FIS.

We're a tiny ltd. with corresponding small T/O but do accept cards over the phone and via Sagepay.

Been with this crowd since they took over the previous shower.

They charge 1% - 3% depending on which card (much higher than before - debit cards were only £0.28 per transaction once), plus a monthly terminal charge for those who pay over the phone or present in person.

So, can anyone recommend an alternative supplier who can integrate online/telephone/other seemlessly? And keep a lid on charges? I value personal recommendation over app appearance and slick marketing.

Square. One off payment for the machine (they have terminals and contactless readers), small transaction fee. No monthly charges and it can be added to websites. I'm sure you can do customer not present transactions and I do know you can also use your phone as a reader with their app.
Oh and they are rather quick at sending you the money.

I’ve just moved to Verifone.

Very cheap - too soon to say if there is a catch!

We don't take cards over the phone, but do use Stripe to send payment links / invoices to clients - esp. abroad and they get to pay in all sorts of currencies without bothering us... ease of use and reliability is the biggest factor for us - there is also a lot you can do with an API with stripe which is very helpful.

Worldpay are bloody hard work to deal with.

I use stripe because I can accept payments via link through Xero.

Not the best rates but its easy to use

Stripe snd Dojo
Stripe easy to set up for website payments. Never had any major issues. When we have needed to get Supports it’s been easy and problems have need sorted rapidly.

Dojo website payment integration is a bit of a mare. But they are getting better as they build their tech support function

You can do a manual payment over the phone from the stripe website. We use them, and whilst not the cheapest, are easy to use.
