What the heck is going on!!!???
We are spending more and more time verifying anything involved in moving cash at the moment.

- Amazon account
- Ebay account
- Savings bank account
- Current bank account
Feels like a never ending run of discussions with overseas call centres.

All of this under the pressure of tight deadlines and the threat of account closure.

We've been trading successfully for 20 years with an unblemished record and don't need this hassle.

Anyone else out there suffering this????

Yes - under the guise of ‘know your customer’ our bank put us through a six week period of interogation by post. Multiple forms (one was 14 pages) wher we were asked to provide information about premesis, shareholders (inc where they are domiciled) cash takings, proof of address and much more, including our VAT number. I made a copy of the huge questionair and sent duplicates back to them and 2 weeks later they were still saying it had not been provided. Eventualy i took a copy 25 miles to a branch. Our internet banking functions went into limp mode during this,no new payees etc. Eventualy I rang & after 2 hours of being passed from person to person was told the documents had arrived and were ok, but our accounts were scheduled for closure - What ! — Why ? …….hang on, let me try to find out……..”you have 4 accounts, one has an internal refference number that is incorrect” ……’you are kidding? How is that a problem to punish a customer for, when your own internal reffernce numbers are on the skew?’ …….”hang on” …….15 minutes later, a new voice “we do not know how to resolve this, but please take this case code and ring tomorrow” — ‘can i have yiur name please?’ - “No, call tomorrow”

Lovely experience - when i called the next day, zero apology just “we think we can update things our end, if we need anything else from you we will be in touch, your account closures have been delayed, goodbye”

A week later - a text said, the matter was resolved, a week after that our internet banking functions went back to normal.

The name of the bank begins with a B - for bds.

Sounds very familiar, as I read this I was thinking sounds like another poor customer of a once great bank….
