Have you ever used one? My experience with lead gen companies isn't good and others have said the same but I am wondering about B2B appointment setting companies. If I accurately qualify what we need then, in theory, this should work but then so should the lead gen companies' leads...

Used a few over the years. Bit of a mixed bag. One was used at a company I worked at in the early 90s and the last I heard, they were still assigned to the same company (Telephone Marketing Company, IIRC). Used another at an agency I was director of in the late 90s, early 00s. We worked out that the ratio was was 100 calls = 5 appointments = 1 new client.

And again over the past 20 years, have used both individuals and companies. The paradox is that the best ones cost the most and to a level that is often more expensive than employing someone to do the same role.

Money can be saved if you generate the lists they work to and their effect is directly correlated to the briefing you provide them.
