A complete a long shot, I know.....

I'm looking to connect with someone who has existing contacts with retail buyers in the DIY/Tools/Construction/Outdoors sector (think Jewson, Screwfix, B&M, Wilko, LIDL etc..)

One of our ecommerce brands has an in demand product that we want to upgrade, however, the tooling costs and initial order will kill our cashflow. In a ideal world, if we had a retail customer that could place a large order beforehand it would help us a great deal.

We've always stayed out of retail supply as ecommerce is our main bag and we stick to what we know. Someone with existing contacts who could accelerate this process would be a giant help and would be compensated appropriately

you could approach the smaller brands eg. Rolson, Amtech and Hilka etc

be prepared for the product to be copied though, they all have factories in the far east

You'd be doing well to get a retail chain to pay you on order - likely they'll want to pay you 90+ days after receiving delivery.

Sounds like you're effectively asking for a free loan to manage your own cash flow.
It's not unheard of with retailers & suppliers, but if there's no existing relationship / track record of good business together I can't see it gaining traction I'm afraid.

If the product is good enough and you can offer exclusivity, there's a potential.
Not my area (I'm Grocery FMCG), but best of luck
