Sent a company risk assessments and method statements for some electrical work. Bought some online pre done and adapted to suit.

now I've been asked for the "competencies". Any idea what's being requested?

I really dunno why I bother getting involved with this kind of stuff... no wonder everything costs so much to do.

They mean what skill cards/qualifications will the people working to the method statement have. For example a JIB or ECS card for electrical work. Such things demonstrate they are competant to do the work.

If you know who is going to do the work, attach copies of their skill cards to the RAMS.

Sounds like they want evidence that you or your staff are competent to carry out the work.

If it’s electrical, generally ECS cards.

It depends on what services you are offering, but along the lines of:

Company NICEIC registration, CSCS Card, Asbestos Awareness training, first aid training and if you are supervising or managing any works, SMSTS or SSSTS training.

I do the same; I’d wish to see pdf copies of their qualifications.
Anyone who just accepts Broad based information is not doing their organisation any favour; and why is it so difficult? You have these records?
I would also use them to match any names on the method statement, and upon arrival on site.

The managment company for our apartment are ace at ensuring that contractors have good anti-modern slavery and H&S statements.

They are pretty S41T at ensuring that the one they engage, subs the actual work to some scallywags who can competently do the work and clear the site quickly.

No doubt they have completely different priorities when it comes to having work done on their own homes.
