Quickbooks - VAT only invoice, how?

Morning all. We use Quickbooks and recently have had to pay the VAT element of the cost of a vehicle repair because we are VAT registered.

Can anyone walk me through how to show this in QB please?

We have an invoice from Car Repairs Ltd for £986.00 VAT on repair of vehicle ABC123.

That's £986.00 I need to show and reclaim against my next VAT return.

Can't you just enter a Zero value in the Net section and manually enter the VAT amount in the VAT section?

If it helps anyone you have to do it the same on XERO as SF62 says- you can’t just input a VAT figure

There should always be an option to allow VAT amounts to be entered manually.
