I've got an usual set of circumstances. Have a 2 year fix for electricity which ends 31/5/23.

It's basically a small commercial unit , which has the lights on for about 30 mins a week, so our annual usage is incredibly low at approx 201 kWh per annum

Our existing charges
standing charge 35p a day
day 16.59p
night 10.95p
All in all I pay about £13 a month

When I renewed two years ago, I found it really difficult to get any takers for someone with such low usage. All the business energy comparison sites are now just data collection sites for them to ring you back and don't give me any info

I once saw a link on here to a comparison site which listed all my options company by company, detailed charges etc. I understand the energy market has changed enormously, but is there anything like this still out there...or does anyone have any pointers

Thanks in advance

I'm in a similar situation on a fixed deal due to expire at the end of June albeit for a residential foul water pump that was costing £11 per month (£1.75 was electric!).

Standing charge is 25p per day and 17.5p per kilowatt so I have had my EV charger connected up to it as its cheaper and easier than connecting into the house. I was hoping that I might be able to get an off peak tariff from someone when some normality returns to the markets but that's not looking likely if EDF's quotes are anything to go by.

New cost after June will be 31.6p per kilowatt

Best economy 7 rate is 36.7p day and 32.9p night!

Both with a 25p standing charge.

For a supply that small, you will probably be on a domestic meter.

Uswitch might be your best option.

Domestic meter wasn’t an option for me, I know it’s commercial as I had it installed.

Unfortunately not. It is commercial and on an industrial estate, and a three phase meter.

Unfortunately, in that case, your cheapest route would be to go onto individual suppliers websites and ask for a quote.

Or renew you existing supply. As it is fairly minimal, I guess the cost is pretty irrelevant.

Similar to the OP, I'm also looking for commercial quotes for light usage - our village church. The Energylinx website won't provide me a quote as the church isn't listed as a selectable address, so I've sent them an enquiry - but any other 'light usage' providers worth considering? From a quick calculation on the last 12 bills, we are at circa 1000kWh, but I think more accurate use averaged over a longer period is probably 600-650kWh per annum. To the poster that says - why worry about a small supply - every penny counts when you have to fundraise to cover the costs etc.

I'm already supplied through Utility Bidder but want to 'price check' them against other providers.

At 650kWh per year you are looking at a bill of around £175 to £200 per year, you might save £20 at most shopping around, but also open up a ream of admin if the opening and closing read transfer etc goes wrong. Easier to renew with the incumbent and donate say £40 to the church yourself to save your own time! Or is there a local business that attends the church that wants to pay the entire bill effectively sponsoring the church.
