Flying to Dublin tomorrow for a conference/training event with equipment in bags - Got the carnet sorted quiet easily and in hand (was a little expensive at £530 thanks brexit....) Im struggling to find how its organised at an airport for checked luggage:

Rang bhx customs, its commercial and diff site (5 miles away)
They gave me another number just ringing out
Chamber of commerce said just ask for a customs officer when dropping bags
Gov.uk customer helpline asks some automated questions, gives me the wrong answer and says goodbye ffs

Any experience?

Yep you’ll have to get it stamped out of Dublin into bham thrn out and then back in Dublin
Get there early to get them to attend
And whatever you do don’t loose
This is what the dheads voted for

Interested in how this turns out.

We've had a nightmare with it (sites in UK and EU).

Some people went on the Eurostar the other week and couldn't find anywhere either side to get anything stamped.

Wasnt too bad tbh, allowed an hr, took 30mins. Customer service called customs and a guy came out with a big stamper in his hand so that looked positive!! V friendly and helpful, looked at carnet list, eyed the bags up, asked a few qu but didnt check anything. Said they get loads now and just ask at bag drop next time.

Similar in Dublin red channel, lady went off for 10 mins came back, checked a couple of serial numbers on our electrical products and stamped us up.

We paid for a 12 month carnet with 5 visits, wasnt much more than 2 months and we might well be back next year. Was talking to a guy at event from Belfast and i said did you have a carnet to drive here? And he said no - he needs a carnet to go it England/Scotland as the "border is in the Irish sea now"!! Ah of course it is, its so fooked....
