Need some advice ref patenting a product. An idea of an hourly rate wouldn't go a miss either!

I looked into this while I was a student.

There was some charity that ran free 40 minute sessions with patent consultants in Holborn in London. As I remember, you sent a cheque for £60 to them for a session (booked up about 8 months in advance) and if you didn't turn up, they cashed the cheque to the charity.

Can't remember who did it, or the name, or even if they are still there tho'.

Sorry.

er, thanks for the help. I've already been down the business link route and now need something a little more focused.

AceParts, If I can remember who it was that did this, I'll let you know. They were very focussed, and very good.

Trouble is, it was some time ago.

My charge is £145 an hour, but I am only a trainee and I would need a supervisor on it for around £300.

If that sounds too much search for a local patent attorney, but they won't be much cheaper.

If you PM me I can recommend a patent agent I refer my clients to, based outside of London so hourly rate a bit lower and you should be able to have an initial chat with. Whomever you use don't be afraid to ask for a fixed price where you have agreed a scope of what needs to be done.
