I'm putting on a party near Cambridge in August and I need a marquee (approx 30' x 45') with flooring and a stage. A couple of toilets too. Are any PHers in the business or can you recommend a company for a quote?

Thanks!

I can't help with your enguiry, but as a guide I got a quote recently for a marquee for accomodating up to 100 people and it was about £1500 for a top quality one. Over the budget for what I was wanting.

I was going to say that PetrolTed could put you in touch with someone after his experiences with PistonFest, but then I saw you wanted toilets as well.

(Sorry Ted - only joking. I know that PH'04 was a mile better toilet-wise )

Try A&E Marquees in Cambridge. A friend of mine used them for his wedding and seemed to be a good deal - think they've got a website but don't know the URL.

I remember the name because when I was told the marquee came from 'a&e' I thought they meant the local hospital!

Cheers Wanty, I actually spoke to them this morning and they quoted £420 + VAT for a 40' x 30' marquee. The other quote I've had so far is £365 + VAT for a 45' x 30' one. It's staging and flooring that's a real killer (not to mention the bloody VAT).

That is the going rate and yes, flooring is a killer, mainly 'cos of the space it takes up on the lorry.

Must have been the flooring I requested which made the quote I got so high - now I know for the future, thanks.
