Well firstl I posted my previous topic regarding this subject under the username SF_001. I have since re-registered under a more suitable username.

In the last topic I posted, I was asking around for logo designers. Well finally I chose a company called

I payed them £179 more than 10 days ago. They clearly state on their website that they usually come back to a client within 3-5 days with the first set of designs for me to narrow down what I like in the list of designs they have produced.

Now, I have since e-mailed after the 6 day mark came up (So I gave one day extra for them). I heard nothing. Then came the 8 day mark so I e-mailed again. NO response. We have called on TWO occasions now to be greeted only by an answer machine. We have asked them to call back but have had NO calls.

I just don't know what to do. I am thinking in my mind that he could come back. Although as he has given no response I am thinking about looking for another designer to do this work.

Any thoughts and suggestions? Or even ANY recommendations for other designers which are around the £180 area ?

Regards,

Louis

I would suggest sticking with them; There might have been an illness, a BT esq downtime failure on broadbean in their street, but it could be a case of poor service.

Obviously Im suggesting this due to the fact that you have already shelled out, and rightly deserve that which you paid for.

If you need help with a logo, then we can certainly help. We have some big clients in our portfolio, high street chains, few large corporates etc. Graphic design is something we do every day although logos are less in demand and not something we have done hundreds of, so to speak.

Ive emailed you my details, feel free to give me a call anytime Here to help however I can

No worries. Its probably easier dealing via email than the phone from Italy anyway What kind of boat did you have when in the UK, BHP etc?

My father had a couple of boats when we were in the UK.

He first had a Marada which was VERY similar to the boat in the following link...

http://boats.iboats.com/cgi-bin/marine_classifieds/view_photos.cgi?ad_id=64789&img=

He then bought a more stable boat under sea conditions. This was a Rinker 232 Captiva Cuddy.***The following pic is not of ours but of the exact model***

http://img.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/pics/F51439.jpg

So they are in the catagory of speed boats.

Horsepower-wise we are talking at 190hp ?? (I think for the Marada) which had very fast acceleration and 250 HP for the Rinker.

The marada was more of a lake ski-boat. The Rinker was definatyl more suitable for the sea (V-Hull !)

Friends had 28footer sea-rays and one had a 43ft Sealine.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that another friend buys a princess V-series or Sunseeker.

As you can probably tell I am seriously into boating !

Louis

I would e-mail them and let them know how you feel. Write it when you're calm and collected, and make it clear in a polite and businesslike way that you are not happy, and are starting to worry.

Running a design firm myself, I know what happens when you say to a customer that you will get back to them in x amount of days - fate conspires against you and it's at least double that before you have anything to show. Failing that look elsewhere for your design work and take steps to recover the money.

In my experience everything slows down over the Easter Bank Holiday, give them some extra time.

Possibly a case of you get what you pay for. £180 is not an awful lot of money for what you are requesting. Obviously this depends on what you were expecting in return but I would have thought that with that sort of budget few companies would commit a lot of time to the work.

Having said that, if the company in question agreed to do said work for said money you should expect some service and design solutions. Keep chasing them and let us know the outcome. Do you have any formal documentation / communications to prove purchase order or acceptance to do the work from the company?

If we can be of any help please drop me a line, email and weblink in profile.

Just got a reply from them (via e-mail). It looks like those who said keep calm as it could be easter chaos are looking like they were correct. They said they will get the designs to me ASAP.

I am feeling a bit better now.

Question for UKBOB...

As your business is in the design field. Do you know any company that can get flags printed with the designs of my company logo? This a publicity I am thinking of putting forward in the future.

Regards,

Louis

p.s. thank you everybody for all the feedback.
