There are plenty of scam around concerning it. If you have received a letter demanding a subscription payment - bin it.

I'm sure you know this, but others reading may not

I did one a couple of years ago and am about to do another one in the next few weeks.

Fairly straight forward to do.

If you need any help, let me know.

I've been registered for years. I just had a query about disclosure.

Interesting ... do tell more (if it doesn't cause problems to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.)

We also had a request for disclosure a little while ago.

Arugement over deductions to a tenants deposit and our advice to our client, We told the person asking to 'sod off' but formally wrote that its privlidged confidential advice pending possible court action and to go away.

A complaint was made about us not disclosing, lies and lies made against us.
We wrote and told them why we would not disclose and that the person that it was not personal information and to polietly sod off back to brussels as we are not helping someone sue us or our client.

Long and short they did sod off.
Think I would be a bit more diplomatic in future.

One way around it is to insist on having the proper identy of the person asking for the info. Ie original Birth Cert and proof of address, utility bills and £10 and to have it hand delivered for checking and then be out if and when they do arrive.
Perhaps do this a few times and they may go away.

Lose the £10 cheque and ask for all of the above again.

I hate red tape.
