I need to get a couple of small vans for shifting things around in (funnily enough!!) have any of you got any useful advice on the best ones to go for/avoid and the best way to buy them?

I am after a Tansit connect sized vehicle so I'd guess most makers have something similar, any help would be great.

Cheers
Dan

Hi
Most vans now are pretty good, most dealers now are pretty Crap!

We currently use Renault Kangoos as we get the best discount (around 20%) and they are well specced, they seem to have sorted the old immobilliser problems and the new 1.5 DCi engine is brilliant.

My neighbour did his sums and chose a Citroen Berlingo for his business distributing bottled water. Might be too small for you though?

I read Commercial Motor for my sins (have to keep up to date with Trucks and Vans) and I'd like to point out that the Transit Connect has a lower speed limit on certain roads like dual carriageways, compared to car derived vans. I only know this as you see details of court cases in CM and I thought the ruling ridiculous.

So my advice is to check out the speed limits for each of the vans you are considering as the last thing you want are speed camera fines for travelling the same speed as a car derived van.
