I am looking for an architect that would be happy to manage a new residential build from design through to build. We have the plot and are waiting for outline planning for a single property. There also would be scope for further work in the future when we will apply to infill the gap created.

Have had a quote from a local firm for start to finish and it made my eyes water.

We are Berkshire based and would want to work with someone fairly local.

Please e-mail me if you would like to discuss thngs further.

Cheers

sorry, not southern based (lincolnshire) but by way of general advice, can tell you that for full service on a one-off ressi scheme you're gonna pay somewhere between 10% and 13% of build cost. If anyones charging you any less, then they can't do the job properly, so beware. Make sure you get a proper Architect (they will be able to give you their ARB registration No.)

we can help with drawings-only (just done one in Guildford) but its just too far to do management. Have you lookled at www. architecture.com. ?.... the RIBA site - that might be useful.

if you need to knwo any more fee free to e-mail me - sdunnarch@aol.com

I think this is something the Keen Parternship might be able to help with.

Hi,
I run a Pratice called The Keen Partnership which deals with design of all residential buildings including conversions.
I am a Chartered Building Surveyor and Buiding Engineer.
You do not have to use an Architect for your work and you may find the likes for us are more down to earth.

We also develop ourselves and are therefore very aware of what things cost.

If you are interested please E mail me at chriskeen@keenpartnership.co.uk, I would be happy to give you some advice.

Time scales are important as we are very busy.

Kind regards Chris Keen.

mmmmm. one-off ressi stuff is a bit specialist imho. Still, horses for courses, and all that stuff !

there you go then d5hef : your problem solved !

(probably for a bit less than the minimum 10% I'd suggested too)
