hello angelis

thought id drop you a quick line just in case you might be considering an ink jet printer (we dont have a laser).

I use the 'epson stylus PHOTO 2100' and its a stunning printer. you'll need the additional 'epson stylus RIP professional software to print out 'photo' like eps's. the results are fantastic. its getting on a bit now (at least 2 years, and cost about £350) so i imagine the quality has improved further.

try and organise a demo somewhere, if you want photgraphic results you wont be Disappointed .

cheers

Thanks for the info.

Unfortunatly I need to A3 Laser with a Duplex, which will cost me around £2,500 plus. I know the best A4 one to get for £1,000, but can't seem to get any good reviews for an A3 machine.

We use a Canon irc3220, which has scanner, photocopy and printer all-in-one.

However this is around £10k - bloody good though!

What do you want to print on it? If it's general office stuff, we've got a HP Laserjet 5550 here that's pretty good for what we paid for it, although the toners are a little pricey (£95 black / £175 C M Y). It will do A4 / A3 / wide format A4 and does duplex. If you want to print high volume high quality graphics I'd look elsewhere, something like a Xerox Docucolour 3535.

It's for an estate agency.

So I'll be printing out lots of A3 property details.

I have just put in a Xerox Phaser 7750. It is the business! A3 duplex, 35 pages per minute, awesome print quality. Having had a couple of other machines I went for a total lease and "page pack" option. I.e we pay a quartery charge to lease, a quartery bill for print and pay nothing for toner, consumables, maintenance etc. The machine is a £5800 printer in the config I went for (fairly high end), but worked out much better than buying a cheaper model. The unit replaced a cheaper machine that was using over £2500 of consumables per year and eventually broke down at 3 years old, being un-economical to repair. I will have none of this hassle with this one.

I am so impressed, I will probably have another. There is also a trade in deal on old machines (got nearly £500 back) and a free I-pod.

Contact Lynda Sheppard at Printware on 0870 380 3700
for a deal. She is very helpful.
