Business Cards
Discussion
Think I need some business cards made up. Getting interest in my company, but never have a card to hand.
Whats the best option:
1) Use a Word template and print them off at home. I would think cheaper and easier...
2) Get them professionally made.
Any suggestions for suppliers if 2... and any online templates for 1?
Cheers

I needed some for when I went to Japan.
Used these people. Got the cards within 3 days. I did pay extra for that though.

My opinion is get them done professionally. How do you feel when you are handed a card that is obviously done 'at home'? And believe me the difference is usually easy to spot.
Personally I feel that the person is not serious about their business and wonder what other shortcuts they take.
I get professionally printed full colour cards for about £60 for 500 so it is hardly breaking the bank.
Just my opinion of course....
What you could do (which is what I did) is design the card yourself, in Word if you must (but again it will be obvious - I suggest Illustrator, Paintshop Pro or Photoshop) and then take the design on disk to a printer for printing.
I use SBPrint but that's 'cos they are nearby. You should be able to find similar local to you.

That Goodprint site looks quite good, I've also used www.printing.com & www.vistaprint.co.uk with good results in the past - and you can do it all online.
Cheers.
Have used vistaprint a few times, always happy with the results, except for the cock up when they got my order mixed with someone elses, but they happily replaced the whole order (as well as me and the other party swapping our orders so we ended up with double for the price of one lot!)
They always have offers on as well, try www.vistaprint.co.uk/frfuk?frf=605573738482

I've used www.vistaprint.co.uk for several now. Fully automated service which is nice for us techno-geeks.

Watch the film American Psycho if you have any kind of craving for the best card on the block.

Impressive. Very nice. Let's see Paul Owen's card.
Price pulls a card from an inside coat pocket and holds it up for their inspection:
"PAUL OWEN, PIERCE & PIERCE, MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS."
Bateman swallows, speechless.
The sound in the room dies down and all we hear is a faint heartbeat as Bateman stares at the magnificent card.
BATEMAN (V.O.)
Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God, it even has a watermark...
His hand shaking, Bateman lifts up the card and stares at it until it fills the screen.
He lets it fall. The SOUND RETURNS TO NORMAL.
