Is this something worth considering if someone wants to make some extra cash in addition to their day job?

I know that there's a fair few people on here that do this already and wondered if anyone had any advice on the subject (eg. costs, easy to do etc etc).

Not sure what else to ask at the moment - it's just something thats caught my eye this morning that interests me.

Cheers
Paul

Reselling is a great way to make a bit of cash. Decent profit margins and as long as you're reselling a quality product you shouldn't have too many worries about the product you're selling.

I've got experience in this so i'll drop you an email now

can't say anything negative on a public forum, but lets just say i was told to read the small print VERY VERY carefully...

if something is cheap... its cheap for a reason

Like all things, you really do need to read the small print when dealing with hosting. Particularly when dealing with offers that sound to good to be true. Like for example "unlimited bandwidth and disk space". Simply not a reality. They are working on the assumption that your reseller business will remain small. Problem is, when you get a customer who uses above the hosting companies expectations. Service terminated due to excessive CPU usage is a common description.

My recommendation would be to start of working with a smaller host who can help you grow your business until such time as you need or want your own dedicated server.

I've got to know Rico over the past few months and he seems to be very hands on at web hosting. You should email him and ask him for advice off the forums, where hes free to talk more openly.

(disclaimer - my own company doesn't offer private label reseller options or dedicated servers so this is not an advertisement)

They're a big company so they've obviously had lots of happy clients.

I was just repeating the best advice about any deal you can get into... read the small print. if you're happy... go for it

I think any company offering an unlimited service is being a little bit less than straight forward with their clients. As Rico says they have a lot of customers, 210,000 domains under management, so they must be doing something right. It really depends on what your using them for and how you want to develop your reseller business.
