We've been handed the task to prepare a proposal document for a local authority to produce a quarterly magazine targeting ABC1s in the South East.

We need to compile a list of journalists who can contribute articles, covering various lifestyle topics (food, travel, finance, fashion, etc)

Any here or anyone know of any?

Don't suppose you need a motoring correspondent do you. Please. Pretty Please.

I have absolutely no experience but would suggest the following list of articles:

ENZOPOLITANO
To Naples and back in an Enzo

CAR BLIMEY
F1 Cars, are they really as exciting to drive as they make out. We find out.

ON THE PULL
Can you really pull anything when you drive the new DB9. (To appeal to caravanners obviously.)

Sorry, was probably a serious question but I got a bit over excited.

I can always make the suggestion - as long as I come along as photographer!!

If you want a motoring correspondent, then I have some experience. Can provide examples of my previous work on request.

Used to do quite a bit of freelance stuff, mainly dealing with technology/Net stuff (usually numpty guides to using the web to do xyz and so on) although did once get a piece in the 'Guild of Experienced Motorists' mag about dealing with congestion IIRC.

I did think I'd better tone down my usual opinions though, didn't want to hear the sound of a thousand cardigans being shredded in anger!

Ahh... here we go.. (Isn't it incredible what you find on a hard drive)

Naturally you remember that when you started driving the roads were clear, speed limits were few and traffic wardens yet to be invented? Of course you do, but you might also like to think of the 23rd May 1913. Not one of the more memorable dates in motoring history but the day that Hyde Park Corner had a 10mph speed limit imposed in an attempt to curb the congestion that gridlocked the area on a daily basis.

What more could you want than a journo who is a Pistonheader and has written for Pistonheads!

What you really, really need is a former journalist who can also put together a proper media strategy, and help with all your marketing communications. Strangely enough I know exactly where you might find one...
