just what it says on the tin

Will be willing to look at partnership on a deal by deal basis or Fee based payment to assist in Land buying, and obtainment of Planning Permission.

Anyone in a position to help please e-mail me throught my profile.

Anyone with advice on how to pick a Planning Consultant, and what to find out re: qualifications etc. please post a reply

Thanks, David

I would like to of helped but I see you are based in Kent. Its not going to be cost effective for me to assist if you are doing projects at that end of the Country. Try using this link:

www.rtpiconsultants.co.uk/

As to what to go for, it all depends on the size/nature of projects that you think that you are going to be involved in. Large practices in City Centres usually have a wide level of experience (particularly in the larger commercial schemes) and are often part of large surveying practices, but if you are going to be dealing with fairly small-scale stuff I am sure that a local practice will do (or even a one man band), and may work out cheaper. One tip might be to call your local Council and ask if you can speak briefly with a Planning Officer to ask if he/she can recommend a good local consultant.

Make sure you get a fee framework agreed in writing first which sets out what you will get for your money. Also ask what experience the consultant has in the type of property development you have in mind e.g. retail planning is a specialism in its own right.

Hope this is of help.

P.s. if they have MRTPI they are a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute i.e. they are a chartered planner.

have to say... i'm getting pretty excited by the whole thing now, little else has pushed this out of my mind for nearly a year, and i'm actually starting to make some headway now thanks to you guys

I have two partners and a source of the majority of funds since first posting on here.

Long may it continue, oh, and I won't forget where to get the beers in
