I'm in the kitchen re-vamping business, business during the summer was excellent, then towards the end of the summer it slowed down a lot. I expected things would pick up when the kids went back to school, but that didn't happen. By November things were looking a bit dire. Then, halfway through December, just when I least expected it, sales got going again. January is already booked up and it seems reasonable to expect some sales to come through in January, so maybe things will be OK after all.
How are things for the self employed amongst you?

My busiest time of the year. Too many deadlines - not enough time.

Every time someone asks me this, I say the same

last month was the busiest month I've ever had, and this month is going to be worse..

I had hoped Xmas would give me some respite.. but no.. sales and orders keep flowing in.

Its all great, but It just amazes me month on month.

Temporarily very good thanks. Two big systems: one going in, one in development and a prospect that could fill six to eight months of next year wants to talk to us in January.

Wish the pipeline was more predictable, though. At the moment we seem to end every year with a huge scrabble to complete work and have a hiatus in the Spring and Summer.

Come to think of it that isn't bad either! (If only the loot kept rolling in...)

we are normally extra busy in oct nov, and dead in december. but oct and nov were average, and december has been astonishingly amazing...in fact it's been my 2nd busiest month on record. It wasn't caused by one large client either, no real marketing..just word of mouth.

Been going 8 weeks, already breaking even. Will Turn a profit in Feb. Although might take a bit longer to pay myself back the invested capital!

So... Great then!

Reasonably good here, just getting a bit sick of competing with quangos and universities who keep popping up and saying to potential clients "Well actually, we can do that for free..."

JUST F**K OFF YOU GRAVY TRAIN-RIDING LITTLE W**KSTAINS!!!

There, that's better...
