As some of you may know, I own and run a rapidly expanding Insurance Brokers. Although we can cater for most needs we are moving our bias towards meeting business customers needs, rather than fighting with the direct writers for car insurance.

Our website is well overdue for a revamp, and I was wondering if you lot could help by posting links to insurance websites that had particularly impressed you to help me gain inspiration.

TIA

I gave up with insurance sites as the amount of times you type in the details and get a poor quote, try to modify the details and then have to start from the beginning again, was not worth the hassle.

What I would want is the possibility of doing multiple quotes for different cars and different levels of cover without having to go through the whole process of inputting everything again.

I agree there.

I've used confused.com before and thats the best way... but i'm normally not sure on the car i'm going for so a website where my basic details stayed the same and i could do a simultaneous quote for say 6 different cars would be great.

Oh, and they don't make it clear that the insurance companies will ring you after... i've had a few companies ring me and ask if i wanted to take up their offer of £8k insurance on a Clio182... "eerr, no thanks"

Peeps - I'm shying away from car insurance, but we will have a competative web only product which will work exactly how you want it to, but we will be outsourcing that (in the UK).

Rico - We won't hassle people over the phone, we let our products sell themselves!

It's really commercial websites that I'm looking for comparisons and opinions on before I throw my money at the project.

Slinky - Are you in the trade (or insurance software for that matter)? for back office and personal lines we use SSP's M3 product, for small commercial we use Gilt Edge and I-market. por quoi?

We nearly bought one of their systems, but there was no integrated card processing available...without massive costs.

Hi Jon,

A site i like is www.groupama.co.uk but then i might be a bit biased.

Why do i like it, personally I find it pretty easy to navigate and it is not "in your face" like some.

IMO anyway

Does that mean you work for Groupama then?

It is a good site though.

I didn't like the look of that either, Broker Network have tried pushing us towards acturis, which is an online asp system i.e all your data is held off site with COX. very scary!
