This one has always stuck with me:

There is a bucket.

The bucket has several frogs stuck in it (ribbit)

There are three horrible frogs sitting around the top.

The top frogs are relentlessly shouting down at the ones below “don’t try and get out you useless idiots, why bother hopping, just sit there, give up and die!” (not very friendly are they)

This continued for some time until all but one of the frogs gave up and died.

The last frog carried on hopping and hopping and hopping until eventually he made it out!

Q
How comes the last frog made it out but the others didn’t?

A
He was deaf.

...but....not usre I have have caught the theme of this thread..is it about Scottish Kings, Spiders etc?? If so I would counter blind conviction and effort:

"when three people tell you you look ill, perhaps it is time to lie down"

I have pushed at some doors until knackered, sometimes missing other open doors because I was too focussed on my own idea or product. I got some good advice from someone who said "always take some of the low hanging fruit to fill the belly. My advice is to do a bit of both, if people want to give you money, then take it but don't get distracted from the things that yiu need to do for long term success.
