Had a new client approach me today who wants me to do a website for him, 'cos that's one of the things I do. Having spoken with him at length, I am not convinced that it is a website he needs. He simply wants to get rid of a huge stock of Ziegler rugs that he has collected over the years, and do it fairly quickly.

Now I don't know the first thing about these things and had never heard of Ziegler until today but I am told that these are expensive hand woven items.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, does anyone know a direction into which I could point this chap where he could maybe get rid of them in one job lot? As he said himself, whilst he is a good buyer, he is not a salesman, and doesn't know where to start. I suggested he try Sotheby's or Christie's but he did not like that idea; not because there is anything wrong with his rugs, but because he says he has seen several friends ripped off by them.

The gentleman does seem a little eccentric to me and doesn't really understand the internet. He thought it would be the answer to his prayers. It might yet be, but not in the way he thinks!

Take payment up front and make him a website. No point in losing money.

Suggested that. He is far to frightened of the internet. He told me today he just deletes his emails without opening them in case 'he catches something'

How does he think the rest of the world manages, bless him. And before anyone says it, no amount of persuasion will convince him otherwise.

Thanks. Was not aware of that. I'll have a look.
