Executive Search Firms take the p***

Anyone know a trustworthy executive search firm that i could register with, I have a high profile job in a very incestuous industry so the last thing I wanted was my c.v to be all over the place without my knowledge also seemed strange how the jobs advertised by this company didnt seem to exist, managed to pull my details back before it did any major damage to my reputation luckily friends with someone who received my c.v and was warned this was happening.
This is serious and you should not take any bull
If they have distributed your details without your consent, they are in breach of the Data Protection Act. You, as the "Data Subject" have a right to control how your personal data is "Processed." This includes who they send it to.
Write to them, explaining that you are not happy, that you want confirmation from a Director that your information has been reomved from their system, that they do not hold any of your Personal Data any more, that all hardcopies have been destroyed and remind them that failure to comply with the Data Protection Act is a criminal offence with potentially personal criminal liability for directors of their company (this will sh1t them right up....
) That should do the trick.

If they`re advertising jobs then they`re not an Executive Search firm.
If they are sending out your details without you knowing anything about it and representing you as a legitimate candidate then they`re not an Executive Search firm.
They`re a Recruitment Consultancy - and there is a big difference.
If you feel that you have a legitimate complaint, call the Managing Director and quote the Data Protection Act. You will get a response.

what industry are you in? The guys I used to work for are very good for banking / finance related jobs. They're called Elliott Ross and are based in the City.
