This charity have approached me and will be looking for funds to work towards an anti-bullying charity.

bearing in mind the amount of scare stories that I have heard recently about charities contacting you then charging pro-rata for advertising that was not requested, I have not made a decision on whether to work with them or not.

Has anyone else been approached or had any experience of this charity?

Not to put too fine a point on it I tell ALL these Charities to **** off, these days.

1) If my business is going to give then I will damn well go looking for the lot I want to give my money to based on *my* priorities in this world.

2) Many "charities" seem to have raison d'etre's that are diametrically opposed to my views on the subject or condone methods that I feel to be wrong.

Cynical? Moi. Damn right.

Sounds dodgy to me.They weren't based in the North West by any chance? And did they come across all chummy and friendly - calling you by your first name for example?

Just be careful.

If anyone rings me asking for money I tell them I've given it all to Gordon Brown, and suggest they call him instead.

If you want to give money to charity, it's far better just to pick your own and send a cheque!

Its pretty bad when cynicism of charities is the first thing you think of, its not really your fault its the scammers, but none the less these scammers need to be dealt with harshly, to put a bit of trust back into the system.

Well having checked out www.charity-commission.gov.uk/registeredcharities/first.asp

It would appear to be a legitimate charity:

I've omitted the name and address details, but they can be found on the above website, I also had to search under the keywords "Safety Education" to get the details.
