Anyone got any idea which way the exchange rate is going to go in the next six months? Need to move a five figure sum to the UK and reckon should do it sooner rather than later as concerned the dollar is still overvalued.

Also, been recommended this company: www.hifx.co.uk/ as offering the best rate on transfers - anyone got any experience of this type of service or this company (please email via profile if bad!).

Cheers,

Chris

Erm, have I missed something here?

Surely you should moving your five figure sum to the US and when the $ falls you move it back to the UK?

The money has been earned in the US so we need to move it back home to the UK as we'll moving back in the next six months.

Exchange rate has done nothing but worsen since we moved out just over a year ago. Considered putting the money into something we could ship home (specifically a Corvette) to sell at a profit but the nice customs people are wise to that one!
