I am going to buy some Vans for the company.

The best deal I have found is Citroen Berlingo 1.9D Enterprise (ABS, CD player, PAS, electric windows) new for £6495.00 plus VAT and RFL. Does anyone have experience of these Van-are they any good?

I can't believe how cheap they are. I have estimated that I will be able to run one at 20000 miles pa for 3 years for 18ppm.

The depreciation is glacial-I have been offered a second hand one 4 years old with 100k for 2800 plus VAT!

I wouldn't bet on the depreciation remaining glacial, its just the state of the commecial vehicle market all-over at the moment - very buoyant, especially in the run up to Christmas.

A few mates have had them as company vans and they seem to be okay, the engine seems to last if you make sure they are regularly serviced and have oil changes. Not the fastest in the world, but that shouldn't be a problem.

From an operator/owners point of view. They are fine, cheap, reliable and honest workhorse.

From a driver/user. Junk I had one as a company van for a while. Hated the bloody thing.

Do you need a covered van or have you considered double cab pick ups.

Still tax efficient for a couple of years.
