Starting a business/agency
Discussion
I work in a specialised field in the IT industry and have a few contacts with companies who need people with my type of skills.
The present company I work for can't help, so I was thinking of setting up a small company with a friend of mine and hiring a few contractors/contacts of our own (moving on to permanent staff when possible) to fill the positions.
Are there any good websites with info on how to do this, i'm sure it's not as easy as setting up an off the shelf company and whacking a few contractors into the place.
How about companies that handle all the tax implications and governmental issues for small businesses, something like the umbrella companies that individual contractors use?

Hi Trooper
Thanks for the info about the air-con belt.
I work within the recruitment business dealing with contractors or should I say the payment of contractors. I'm happy to help you out with all of the info you will need i.e. IR35 and the like. I work as UK Senior Account Manager for Charterhouse Group International and we have two products you could use to pay your contractors that would remove you from the employment relationship and the Tax side of things. Get in touch if you are still going down this route.
Cheers
John
