Hi, just found this business forum after being a PH member for some time

I'd be interested to talk with any other recruiters who have set up on their own.

Keen to hear of your opinions, problems, software used etc etc..

Any takers?

For those interested, we are doing some consultancy for a company that has an ASP solution for recruiters, it will have special appeal to those setting up from scratch and not wanting to pay a fortune to a recruitment software company for a database licence.

You can check them out at www.pyplia.com.

Is everyone a Consultant round here then?

Kev - what sort of markets are you a recruitment specialist in? Just curious.

I have two consultancies, both set up in the last year or so, please feel free to mail me anytime. I am always looking to chew the fat with fellow recruiters.

Presumably it is because you have two consultancies that you needed to post the same message twice?

Hello Ron,

I learned the hard way in recruitment some years ago working for two of the big players. I now work for a specialist Technical Documentation company that consult to software houses - on-line help, user guides that sort of thing. We also run a search and selection side of the business which is where I come in.

On the whole I'm very happy there BUT I can see the benefits of setting up on my own everyday, there are just 4 of us in the company and two directors, it's highly profitable and I have aspirations - gotta do it.
