I'm doing a bit of contracting for a few months before I go off travelling to Asutralia.
I can't really see the point in setting everything up for my own company and thought using an umbrella company would be best?

Can anyone advise any good ones? or Ones to steer clear of?

Also is this the best route? Or should I do the task of setting myself up?

Thanks!

You'll probabaly get a better response posting this in the business forum, and a few of the guys who post on there regularly (and really know their stuff) aren't about outside of office hours, so you'll probably get a good response on there come monday...

I use Gabem. They are truly marvellous. They reduce my tax liability by only paying me a minimum wage (£4.50) and then they pay me the rest of my hourly rate as a 'share-holders dividend' using the 1pence ordinary share they sold me when I signed up - very clever.

All I pay them is £26pw. They also send me a text message when my money goes in - every Friday.

I also have an off-shore SPC as well

I work for a company providing these services although I'm the ICT manager so can't really answer any specific questions. The company I work for is called Crest Pay (www.crestpay.com) - we offer all the same services as the post above, but we charge our customers only £20 / week admin fee.
