Looking for a designer who can come in on a project and take a royalty from the sales.

Product is baby push-chair related, retail niche market.

Working on a royalty basis to minimise capital out-lay initially until we know if the business case stacks up and we can't get costings without some relatively detailed drawings.

We have a manufacturing consultant on-board to take care of the physical build.

Wifes project and if the plan does fly the 996 will have to go to raise the capital - so I'm in two minds!

Cheers,

Phil.

A baby push chair for a niche market Phil, please tell a bit more about the scale of the project, might be interesting for all addressees

What do you think by niche market? Is it so genius that it will meet an interesting number of unfulfilled demands? Does it have a high degree of innovation, or is it a field where established companies don't dare to put a foot on?

Hmmmm, sounds interesting. What sort of timescales are you looking at?

I could be interested, but due to other commitments I haven't a lot of time available at the moment...

An answer to Bodo's question would be useful.

Cheers.

Scale of the project is difficult to predict - hence funding without borrowing and probably build 200 to 500 units as an initial run with a retail price at the premium end of the market around £400. As other threads have indicated and from personal experience, trying to guess product sales and cash flow is pure guesswork.

The product is similar to a product that was around a few years ago but the manufacturer went bankrupt. Attempts earlier in the year to buy the designs from the liquidators went no where.

From what we can work out the actual product was relatively successful and popular. The product had a unique-selling-point which is what we want to take forwards. Plenty of other products in this space but none have this unique-selling-point and its not covered by trademarks or copyright.

Happy to be flexible on timescales to get the right person, there is no driving milestone to hit like Christmas sales or exhibitions.

Feel free to drop me a line if there are any general questions you need answering, we would be interested in helping more except that we don't work just on royalties, it has a nasty habit of biting you on the backside.

PS we do actually do fixed-price packages which are pretty good price-wise, all on our website(link on profile)
