I need some new furniture for my home office - looking for an L shaped desk set up or possibly a C shaped set up - anybody know any good furniture stores online??

Don't laugh, but I found the curved L-shape desks at Staples to be reasonably priced and of an acceptable quality for the home office.

Edit: Having said that, I've just visited www.staples.co.uk and they don't seem to list them any more.

Staples is where I got my previous desk. It is currently in garage awaiting disposal, so free to anyone who wants to collect it.

see if you can find an office stock auction. I picked up a leather 'directors chair' for £20. It was still as good as new and retailed for a couple of hundred previously

Got a really nice corner one from officeworld. Cost about £200, but it's really solid with loads of storage space. I'm really fussy, but this looks modern and is really good quality.

Took about six hours to build though!!!

Companies going into liquidation - the liquidators would take almost anything to shift some of the desk etc which usually just get binned.

You could give these people a try:

www.greenstandards.co.uk

They are basically a charity who clear out big corporate offices and flog it off. We just picked up a load of cresent desks, with chair, pedestal and cable management screen for £100 a set.
