We are just setting up a new website and was wondering if WorldPay are a good option for online ordering? Anyone with any experience or alternatives? How easy is it to intergrate into our site??

Thanks in advance..

Easy to integrate, easy to use, never had a single problem with it in about 3-4 years. Not the best payment terms and perhaps not the most competitive but I'm very happy with it.

We use it on our site aswell, not fully activated yet though. only thing that I could complain about is the customer service isn't too great. but no other problems so far.

.....Same here - we use this payment method on our site too - Excellent but,as Ted states not the best payment terms or the cheapest - You pay for what you get - and we are quite happy with the product!

I'd just echo those sentements - and they keep you informed of what they are doing all the way through the application.

I foudn they were not as "strict" as Barclays and ultimately got our business as a result.

Thanks

Have you considered PayPal, I have only had good experienced with them and use them for my site.
We also just went live with Green light micropayments so we can take payment via SMS/phone call/credit and debit cards etc. Dont know if thats any good to you as dont know your site but if it is take a look.

Paypal has a lot of history which means many (including me) are still untrusting of it.

In our experience, in terms of integration they are very good.

Stay clear of Netbanx and Nochex.

Only downside of standard Worldpay accounts is the customisation which is limited.

Can you elaborate??? I have had no problems at all with Paypal and our users seem to like it too.

It is much cheaper that WP.

Thanks for the feedback all - guess it's WorldPay for us then. Is there any particular 'package' that is better than others? In an ideal world we would like to do instant online orders i.e. you get charged instantly but also the ability to charge people over the phone if they wish to call - any such package??

We use a package called 'Actinic' for our online shop site excellent - which I set-up myself - very easy to upload images and list all your products - They can be found at the following address www.actinic.co.uk/ - hope this is of use

Worldpay also do a service called 'worldaccess' you pay £100 one off set up fee and then you get a link to a page where you can input the customers card details over the phone.

Their terms and conditions are quite a bit more in their favour than other credit card processors.

You don't have to sign up for an account these days though, to pay via paypal.

If world pay put onerous terms and conditions, such as lodging £2500 with them for a year (ala - what happened to my missus, without telling her that it could be a requirement), and 30+ days to give you your money I'd be inclined to set up via Paypal for 6 months, get a history of trading and then try for a proper processor with quicker access to your money (depends on the likely fraud profile of the business).

Cashflow is king to start-ups and expanding companies, so sometimes its better to go with the worse terms (as a %) and get your money quicker.

Just my 2p - my missus is in the same boat as you.
P.S. Are you still interested in the CARWASH business (looked at your profile), the brother has a valeting place (est. 1986) so via him I might be able to help.

Traditionally Paypal used to operate as a bit of a strange entity. It was neither a bank nor a traditional merchant yet would take your money and pay it into an 'account'. There were many cases where disputes occurred and people were unable to get 'their' money back because of the unusual status of the company/account.

But PayPal is apparently now part of the E-Bay empire so maybe things have improved.

I know, but I was explaining why there are still many early adopters who are still nervous of Pay Pal and who still choose to avoid using it.

I always use www.protx.com as they have proved to be the cheapest and most reliable in my experience.
