Bit of a long shot. I want to get an idea of how much I can sell my endowment policy for rather than just cashing it in or holding on to it. Does anyone know any good companies who buy endowments? One that will give me a good price

Thanks

Chris.

I only know of companies that trade these policies, and if the market is slow it's likely they wont be too interested. Who wants to buy a passed on policy? Most people would sooner jump off a cliff (IMHO) I should simply find out its worth for surrender but it is a very complicated area so if its big bucks speak directly with an expert.

Individuals would probably not want to buy them, but many companies would as an investment.

If the policy has a value of X to an investment company, based on their projections etc, then they will buy it for X minus as big a percentage as they can get away with. If that amount is more than you'd get for cashing it in, then it's worth doing.

Sayign that, I don't know any companies that actually do this, although I've heard of it being done. Try Google. I'd suggest getting at least three or four quotes before jumping though.

If you have a look in Moneyfacts you should be able to find a few brokers who may be interested. I think I've got a copy somewhere, if I can find it I'll post some details...

Sorry, I'm *cough* working from home today, the only Moneyfacts magazine I have to hand is the business one. I had a quick look at www.moneyfacts.co.uk and found several companies advertising on there:-

www.aap.co.uk
www.1stpolicy.co.uk
www.fairinvestment.co.uk
