Alloy options?

I’ve a RRS on order with 22” satin grey alloys (borasco grey is the car colour) which I think goes well. They were part of the deal but are normally £1,100 extra.

I’ve now got the chance of 23” gloss black alloys instead which normally retail for £2,700 extra, but for no cost.

I think the black will go better as I’ve got the black exterior pack, however will there be much difference in the drive and comfort?

Any disadvantages or should I just take them? My knowledge on alloys is practically zero as I’ve normally just taken whatever was offered.

So looks like 22 and 23 may be an issue regardless? Never thought about wheel and tyre insurance, I’ll look into that. What are the rough costs please?

I’m not sure. They contacted me today asking if I wanted to swap when my car comes in. Said another customer wanted the ones I’ve got for their car and would I be interested. I got the impression that they had quoted the wrong tyres for them and couldn’t go back and ask for another £1,100 after it was all agreed. Where these more expensive alloys are coming from, I don’t know.

What’s your reason for asking?

Customer orders 23s and has since had second thoughts about them due to something they may have read from reviews, other owners or experienced the ride on 23s on another vehicle that they have driven since ordering and they no longer see them as a good idea. Range Rover dealer then says let's see what we can do...

If they had quoted wrong tyres for them, surely they would swallow the cost as opposed to giving them to you with the correct tyres?

Ah okay, am I better sticking with the 22’s then?

It was £800 if I recall and there were limits on number of claims (4 or 5) and the total amount claimed over 3 years.
