28th Range Rover in a Row

Yep, every year he trots down to the dealer and gets another one...

A bloke who has purchased a new Range Rover every year for the past 27 years has today visited the Land Rover manufacturing plant in Solihull to personally take delivery of his new vehicle.

Mr Godfrey who lives in Holbeach, Spalding, has ordered a new Range Rover every year since the early 1970s – and every one has been white. Since taking ownership of his first Land Rover product, Mr Godfrey has travelled approximately 50,000 miles every year totalling over of 1.3 million miles in his previous 26 Range Rovers.

After seeing the Range Rovers being built, Mr Godfrey was then given an opportunity to experience the robust capabilities of the vehicle on Land Rover’s infamous off-road jungle track.

Phil Popham, Managing Director, Land Rover UK who handed over the keys of the new vehicle to Mr Godfrey said: "It has been a pleasure to meet one of our most valuable customers. We are delighted when customers continue to come back to our showrooms to buy another Land Rover, but when someone buys 27 over the same amount of years, we know we have achieved ‘customer satisfaction’ ."

As if going out and buying a new car every year wasn't costing him enough in depreciation, he has to order them all in white!

I smell a 'whitewash' operation here - anyone cared to check what this bloke does for a living?

I guess Range Rovers can't be that reliable...if you have to replace them every year!

Maybe it's because the white looks so tatty after 12 months???

Described by LR as one of our most valuable customers........

Most valued customer? Ok, with the amount of cash this guy is giving to LR/Ford.

But definitely not big customer satisfaction here, I would say! That would be the case of the lad who has driven the same (original engine, ...) Volvo 1400ES or something for over a million miles, and is still driving it today. (He got a new C70 T5 for this achievement from volvo.)

It was/is a Volvo 1800 and its had 4 rebuilds in that time...still good though but in the US I bet it was mostly highway 55mph cruising, even a TVR would do good service with that sort of driving ;-)
.
LR should give him a damn good discount I hope.....must be a farmer to afford the equivalent of 50k each year!

I'm sure this guy has done 50k miles but in 28 years and not per year :-) and the previous 27 RR's have not made it into their second year LR decided to show this guy round to see that they did infact use normal metal nuts and bolts in the construction of their vehicles.

The Godfreys are into all sorts but I'm not sure what this one does but judging by the milage , I would guess at the tarmacking branch of the family , may explain why he needs a new one so often , all that tar on white paintwork
